Dedicated AMI Crews

Our crews are built for performance and reliability. Every technician is trained in real-world AMI deployment conditions, not just theory—giving them the ability to handle everything from standard installs to complex retrofits.

We travel nationwide, often working weeks at a time on active deployments. That level of commitment means when we’re on your project, we’re fully locked in—focused on production, quality, and getting the job done right the first time.

Our Leadership & Promise

Our Story

JAR Utility Group was founded to address a critical gap in the metering industry: the need for experienced, accountable field deployment teams capable of delivering consistent results across diverse environments.

While many organizations focus on system design, software, and hardware, the success of any AMI deployment ultimately depends on execution in the field. JAR Utility Group was built to ensure that execution is done right—every time.

The company is led by Darrell Coffer, a hands-on AMI deployment leader with a background rooted in real-world installation, project management, and multi-state operations. His experience spans the full lifecycle of AMI projects—from initial planning and site coordination to installation, system activation, troubleshooting, and final validation.

Darrell’s approach is grounded in firsthand experience. He has worked in the environments where AMI deployments succeed or fail—inside residential units, in crawlspaces, mechanical rooms, meter pits, and active job sites where conditions are unpredictable and timelines are tight. This field-driven perspective directly shapes how JAR Utility Group trains crews, manages projects, and delivers results.

Since 2020, JAR Utility Group has supported installations across 30+ communities in 15 states, serving a wide range of clients including multi-family properties, mobile home communities, RV parks, and utility-driven infrastructure projects. These deployments have required adaptability, precision, and the ability to scale operations while maintaining strict quality standards.

As the company has grown, its foundation has remained the same:

  • Deliver quality work without compromise
  • Meet and exceed production expectations
  • Maintain accountability from installation through system performance

JAR Utility Group is not built on theory or assumptions—it is built on execution, consistency, and ownership of the outcome.

Every project reflects that standard
